Chutak Power Station

World Environment Day has been celebrated at Chutak power station with enthusiasm and by strictly following Covid-19 protocol. Large scale plantation drive was undertaken at Power Station. On this occasion, HOP emphasized the importance of environment and its protection. He further mentioned that NHPC is generating pollution free energy and safeguarding the environment.  Power Station has coordinated with Government Horticulture Department, Kargil for carrying Plantation drive and arranged Apricot saplings for plantation at Barrage site .

Nimoo-Bazgo Power Station

Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, Alchi celebrated World Environment Day in its township at Alchi. On this occasion, a plantation drive was conducted in Alchi Hamlet covering arid areas of Alchi and Chulung villages. Head of Power Station while addressing on the occasion emphasized that ecological imbalance is leading to global warming and as a responsible citizen we should play our role in protecting the environment for our future generation. He stressed on the need of plantation for reducing carbon concentrate in atmosphere. He also stressed to plant more trees since, oxygen percentage is already low in Ladakh area due to high altitude. It is important to adapt habits of reuse and recycle for off-setting the stress on ecosystem.
