Institute of Directors (IOD), India an apex association of company directors and senior business leaders organized a Director’s Conclave on its 29^th Annual Day on 26^th August, 2019 at Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi. The conclave with a theme “Future Boards: Leading Strategy to Embrace Sustainability” was organized with an intention to give the participants greater insight into corporate governance and best practices and facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas and roadmap for accelerating Board Performance and Effectiveness for future.

NHPC was invited by IOD to give a special presentation on the issue and on behalf of NHPC, the presentation titled “Paradigm Shift in Business Sustainability-NHPC’s Experience” underlining the environment & social performance of NHPC was presented by Dr. Sujit Kumar Bajpayee, DGM (Environment). The presentation highlighted various environmental and social initiatives undertaken by NHPC beyond the statutory requirements and how NHPC has been able to achieve sustainable growth by integrating environment & social considerations into its business from the planning stage itself.
