International Arctic Expedition : “Leadership on the edge”

Generating awareness on Climate Change

NHPC was recently associated with an International Expedition to the Arctic region titled ‘Leadership on the edge’. The expedition was organized by 2041 Foundation, an organization founded by polar explorer, environmental leader and public speaker Robert Swan, OBE, the first person in history to walk to both the North and South Poles. This prestigious international expedition comprised of over 80 explorers and was linked with crucial global environmental issues like climate change and environmental sustainability. The expedition had aimed towards inspiring individuals to promote a sustainable future and create resilient communities to act on climate change issues.

NHPC sponsored the participation of Ms Manu Panwar, a 2014 IRS Officer, currently posted as Deputy Director at Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. NHPC’s core areas and objective is to develop hydropower projects in an environmentally benign and socially responsive manner after integrating environmental considerations into planning, execution and operation of projects. The spirit of the expedition was in line with NHPC’s commitment towards environment and was an ideal platform for showcasing NHPC on a global platform.
